develop ITSO certified components and can provide off-the-shelf
solutions or bespoke implementations, according to our customers'
needs. We also provide technical support and consultancy for all
aspects of scheme implementation, a role that we are currently
playing for the consortium that won the Yorcard ITSO pilot scheme.
Universal FVC2
Smart Card Solutions has recently completed
the ITSO certification of the Universal FVC2 Applet. This applet
was commissioned by ITSO as the reference implementation of FVC2.
The applet is to be used as the standard implementation of FVC2
to ensure the interoperability of all POSTs with FVC2 media and
the correct behaviour of POSTs when encountering any variety of
FVC2 application. The Universal FVC2 applet comes with a configuration
tool that allows it to be set up in any of the FVC2 configurations
allowed by the ITSO Specification.
The Universal FVC2 applet has been developed
to support all of the security measures and performance optimizations
available to an application meeting the ITSO Specification. It has
been designed to minimize the non-volatile memory overhead and to
provide rapid installation/personalization, thereby reducing total
cost of ownership. The Universal FVC2 applet is not only the reference
implementation of the standard; it is the applet of choice for any
scheme wishing to deploy the ITSO FVC2 application.
